How to make an air conditioner from car parts

The simplest factory-made household air conditioner costs from several thousand rubles in a store. But this split system can be successfully replaced with a cooling device assembled from old components of the cooling system of a passenger car. Moreover, this does not require any special theoretical knowledge and professional skills. Therefore, any adult is able to cope with such work.

 It will: need
Materials and assemblies:
  • car radiator;
  • fan from the car;
  • fan speed control unit - http://ali.pub/5brygd
  • power supply 12-24 V for 6 A - http://alii.pub/5yoxos
  • PVC hose;
  • plastic clamps;
  • fittings;
  • hot glue tube;
  • wide head screws and self-tapping screws;
  • wooden bar.

Tools: electric drill, stripper, hand screwdriver, wrenches, etc.

The process of making a household water conditioner

Using hot glue, we fix the adapter in the lower hole of the radiator. We screw the fitting into the adapter and, for reliability, we also fix it with hot melt glue.

We screw the fitting into the cold water supply hose from the plumbing system and check the supply and temperature of the water.

We securely fasten the PVC hoses to the fittings by means of plastic clips.

From wooden blocks using self-tapping screws, we assemble the simplest stand for the radiator and fix it on a wooden stand using several self-tapping screws.

We connect the fan to the speed controller and check the correct connection of the terminals. If the fan rotates in the opposite direction, then it is enough to swap the electrical wires.

We fix the fan on the radiator using elongated screws with wide caps and nuts, after carefully making holes in the honeycomb with a hand screwdriver, without damaging the radiator tubes. We also fix the contact pad of the speed controller on the radiator, having previously insulated it from the metal.

The fan speed control switch and the power supply plug are fixed with hot melt glue in places convenient for their maintenance.

We check the operation and modes of the fan speed and leave it on, securely fasten the hoses to the radiator with plastic clamps, supply cold water from the plumbing system and our homemade air conditioner from waste materials begins to quickly and efficiently cool the living space in hot weather.
